INTERACT is Rotary International's service club for young people ages 14 to 18.

Bolton sponsors an Interact Club at our local high school, Humberview Secondary.

Club membership varies greatly, but in the past, students from Grade 9 through to Grade 12 have been included.  They meet each week on Tuesdays at 3 pm, have a committee structure including President, Treasurer and Secretary and are guided by a High School teacher from Humberview, as well as a Rotary member from Bolton.

Your Interact executive for 2016/17 year is as follows:

Hannah Purches -president
Chelsi D'Souza - Vice President
Mackenzie Pugh - secretary
Jeydeane Palmer - treasurer
Izzy Cossarin - social

Past events have included Club awareness presentations in the school to educate students as to the impact of Rotary and to attract new members to the Club,  community outreach projects to support community efforts highlighted by Rotary and  fundraising events at the school such as food sales, dances and sponsorships.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of

  • Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
  • Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
  • Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
  • Advancing international understanding and goodwill

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon. Almost 200,000 young people are involved in Interact.
